In Case You Were Wondering

It takes ten days for a box of golf balls mailed from Center City to arrive in Afghanistan. Narberth resident Michael O'Neill is an Army officer stationed there, and on April 16 he sent a request to his friends asking for golf balls, supposedly to hit from the top of a mountain into Pakistan. Naturally I assumed this was an official request with a serious military purpose, so bought a box of 15 golf balls at a Center City sporting goods store and mailed them to his APO address that afternoon. I just got a note from Mike saying that they arrived today. That's pretty good mail service. By the way, if you'd like to send golf balls to Afghanistan you can find Mike's APO address on his Facebook page.
