A Waste of Resources

According to this article in today's Inquirer, it has already cost more than $550,000 in legal costs for the Lower Merion School District to defend itself in the laptop lawsuit. We taxpayers could end up footing the bill if the school district's insurance company is successful in its lawsuit (that I wrote about last week) in which it is seeking a court ruling that its policy does not cover the kinds of claims being made in the laptop litigation. In a $193 million budget, a half-million here or there doesn't sound like much, until you think about all the better ways that money could be spent. Like for education.
